Finishing

I don’t spray one big quick factory finish as much as I slowly build a finish. By working this way it allows me to add color, tones, outlines and contrasts; and to make revisions and decisions along the way.

This approach is especially useful when touching up and restoring original finishes. Dents and scratches can be filled, smoothed, and sealed; and colors can be gradually added and blended to complete the restoration.

I also employ toning and tinting techniques to enhance the colors and to bring the most visual appeal to the instrument.

This is not a one size fits all approach. Each instrument is different and requires a somewhat different approach.
